Our Founder
One man’s love of botanical extracts
As a young boy, learning from his grandmother about herbal remedies, a love of botanical extracts was fostered in our Founder, Frank D’Amelio Sr., (Senior as he was affectionately known). Senior grew up to become a leader in a burgeoning natural products industry, a loving husband, a caring father, a respected boss and a friend to so many who had the good fortune to meet him. His love of botanicals, inquisitive mind and genuine character made us what we are today and what we always resolve to be.

Bio-Botanica started in 1972, when the botanical extract and natural products industry was a lightly regulated market with a few companies selling products to a niche customer base. Where other companies saw this as an opportunity to put out cheap products using antiquated manufacturing methods, Senior resolved to build a company devoted to quality and innovation using modern scientific principles to improve on traditional manufacturing methods. This commitment to innovation and quality has been passed down to the next generation leadership and has become a part of the company’s DNA.

From our main corporate campus located in Hauppauge, Long Island, New York, our facilities have grown to provide products and services at a level seen only in companies many times larger than Bio-Botanica. Botanical extractions, Contract Development and Manufacturing (CDMO) of CPG (liquids, capsules, tablets, powders, creams, lotions, sprays), QA/QC, and warehousing all done on site. We’re big enough to get large jobs done, but small enough to give you the close attention service you would expect from a family-run company.

The Bio-Chelated®, cold extraction process was created by Senior to create Holistically Balanced® extracts, retaining many of the botanical’s natural constituents in the ratios found in nature. At Bio-Botanica, we believe that science brings out the best of nature when it recognizes the orchestrated complexity of the natural world. By retaining more of that complexity, we retain more of the plant’s natural functional support.
