Clinically studied compound of Pueraria mirifica
Purearia mirifica grows only in the rich soils of the high-altitude rainforests of Thailand and has been used by the Thais for a millennium as a rejuvenator and revitalizer to help offset some of the effects of aging. Pueraria mirifica is regarded as a “Fountain of Youth” because it possesses many phytoestrogens, including Miroestrol and Deoxymiroestrol, which have been shown to have 3,000 times the estrogenic activity of isoflavones found in soy.
Puresterol® is a high quality, standardized extract of Pueraria mirifica made from a patented extraction process that can be used in ingestible and topical products. A third-party contract research organization (CRO) conducted clinical trials of Puresterol® in two different serum formulations under sponsorship by Bio-Botanica. After 28 days of use, the Puresterol based face serums reduced multiple wrinkle markers (two shown below) at a statistically significant level.
The results support a previous in vitro trial sponsored by Bio-Botanica® which found varied concentrations of Puresterol® inhibited Collagenase activity accordingly. Collagenase is an enzyme known to break down collagen and elastin and possibly lead to wrinkle formation.
Randomized, placebo controlled, double blind clinical trial with 21 patients in each arm (n= 42) applying serum morning and at night, for 28 days.
