Butylene glycol is water-compatible and widely used in personal care, so these extracts fold into the water phase of a formula without reworking it. The carrier is what the extract is delivered in; extraction itself is Bio-Botanica's Bio-Chelated low-heat process.
Part of this range is supplied in Brontide® butylene glycol, a bio-based grade, where a brand wants that on the label. The botanical and the extraction are the same either way — ask us which of the two a given item ships in.

Formulation applications
Butylene glycol extracts are used in toners, essences, serums, gels, lotions, creams, masks and hair and scalp formulas, dispersing into the water phase during cold or gentle warm processing. BG is a familiar name to cosmetic chemists and reads cleanly on an INCI list.
