Kava-6® is Bio-Botanica's branded, standardized liquid extract of Piper methysticum — the plant known across the western Pacific as kava, kava-kava, ava pepper, kawa or simply kava root. A member of the pepper family, it is native to the islands of Oceania, where the root has been prepared ceremonially for generations to bring about a state of relaxation; the botanical name translates as “intoxicating pepper.” Bio-Botanica supplies it as an alcohol-free liquid extract of the root under Part ID 5496.
Standardized to 35 mg Kavalactones per mL
Kava-6® is standardized so that each 1 mL of extract contains 35 mg of kavalactones, and it retains all six of the principal kavalactones that give the ingredient its name. Standardization is what separates it from a generic kava extract: it gives a formulator a fixed, dosable input to build a serving size around, rather than a botanical whose strength moves lot to lot.
